Title: BARNFIND 1950s Gibson Guitar in the Worst Condition I’ve Ever Seen..
Framework: (Cool Product) in the Worst Condition I’ve Ever Seen…
Hook score: +398
Why this works:
Curiosity – This title builds curiosity three ways:
- There’s contrast between this awesome guitar and the bad condition
- It starts a story and opens a loop because you want to see what will happen to it
- It’s extreme and unique because this guitar is in the “Worst Condition I’ve Ever Seen”, not just “Pretty Bad Condition”.
Negativity – There’s conflict and drama with this guitar being in such bad condition.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about an awesome product you found in rough condition.

Flop of the Week
Title: Batman Makes A Bat-Burger
Hook score: -88
Why this flopped: My first thought when I saw this title was, “They broke the #1 rule of writing titles: be clear, not clever.”
But then I watched the video.
This title isn’t trying to be clever, they really did a skit where the creator dressed up as Batman and made a burger.
It was published a few days before Halloween, so this was how they celebrated.
Most of the commenters loved it, so if you’re trying to entertain your core audience, then this could be a fun idea to remember for next year.
But if you’re trying to get the most views possible, here are 2 lessons we can take from this video:
- If you want to have fun and showcase your personality, it’s best to sprinkle it into your normal content while giving your audience what they want and expect from your channel, instead of totally mixing it up.
- Be clear, not clever (when I first clicked this video, I wasn’t sure what I was going to get… although as it turned out, it was clear, I just wasn’t sure what to expect).
All that being said, there’s more to YouTube than just views, so take this with a grain of salt and know what your goals are for every video you publish.
