I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.
P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.
Planter Proof
Title: 😮Why EVERYONE is grabbing these HUGE PLANTERS from Dollar Tree! GENIUS outdoor patio DIYs
Framework: Why EVERYONE is (Activity)!
Hook score: +476
Why this works:
Desire – This creator’s audience is into Dollar Tree planters.
Social Proof – This title makes these planters seem even cooler because “everyone” is grabbing them.
Curiosity – This title builds curiosity in two ways:
- The fact that these planters are huge makes them more unique and intriguing.
- It opens a loop and makes you wonder why everyone is grabbing these planters.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience why everyone is doing something, but leave the “why” open-ended.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 😮Why EVERYONE is visiting this small European country!
- Why EVERYONE is grabbing this NEW Callaway Driver!
Spicy Take
Title: The Most Hated Eating Channel on TikTok
Framework: The Most Hated (Entity)
Hook score: +533
Why this works:
Negativity – This title is full of drama and controversy, which people love.
Curiosity – Instead of saying the channel name, this title gives it an extreme, unique label: “The Most Hated Eating Channel on TikTok”.
This makes this title easy to understand and also makes you wonder what the channel is.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the most hated (or similarly negative) thing in your space.
Examples of this framework in action:
- The Most Controversial Workout Routine on Instagram
- The Most Hated Game in 2025

Title: Why Everything in Retirement Changes If You Have a Pension
Framework: Why Everything in (Activity) Changes If You (Specific Situation)
Hook score: +563
Why this works:
Curiosity – This builds curiosity and makes you wonder what changes.
Specific Audience – Calling out people in a specific situation is a great way to grab their attention and get them to watch your video.
Epic – Saying “Everything” changes, instead of just “Things,” makes this video feel more epic and interesting.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience why everything changes if your viewer is in a specific situation.
Examples of this framework in action:
- Why Everything in Your Job Hunt Changes If You Have a Master’s Degree
- Why Everything on YouTube Changes If You Have a Real Business
Need for Speed
Title: This is Why 99% of Amateurs Don’t Create Clubhead Speed!
Framework: This is Why 99% of Amateurs Don’t (Desired activity)!
Hook score: +4195
Why this works:
Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you wonder why amateurs don’t create clubhead speed.
Beginners – Calling out beginners (or amateurs, in this case) is a great way to make a large segment of the audience feel like you made your video specifically for them.
Desire – This creator’s audience would love more clubhead speed.
Negativity – There’s a bit of FOMO here because if you’re an amateur golfer, you feel like you’re missing out on clubhead speed.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience why 99% of amateurs or beginners don’t do something they’re trying to do.
Examples of this framework in action:
- This is Why 99% of Amateur Investors Don’t Beat The Market
- This is Why 99% of Beginners Don’t Take Beautiful Photos!
Rejected Rides
Title: What Happens to NEW Cars That Never Sell? Behind the Dealer Lot!
Framework: What Happens to NEW (Entities) That Never (Activity)?
Hook score: +9461
Why this works:
Curiosity – This title builds curiosity in three ways:
- It asks a question.
- It’s a little counterintuitive — why would new cars never sell?
- “Behind the Dealer Lot” makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
You could also say that “Behind the Dealer Lot” brings in a little credibility because it feels like you’re getting this information from a credible source, but I’d guess the curiosity is what really made this title successful.
How you can use this framework: Ask your audience what happens to cool things that are never sold, used, or whatever people would expect them to do.
Examples of this framework in action:
- What Happens to UNRELEASED Movies? Inside Producer Vaults!
- What happens to filet mignons that get sent back to the kitchen?
Flop of the Week
Title: The Cost of Letting Go, Why Retirement After 60 Is SO Hard
Hook score: -88
Why this flopped: I think this title flopped for two reasons.
First, it’s too vague. “The Cost of Letting Go” isn’t specific or clear enough to grab the audience’s attention, tell them what the video is about, and get them to click.
And second, it’s too complicated. I think it’d probably do better if it was just “Why Retirement After 60 Is SO Hard”.
Having the extra words at the beginning of the title makes it harder to read and waters down its punchiness.
The lesson? Write short, clear, punchy, emotional titles for your videos.
Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!
