I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Healthy Baby
Title: 15 Signs Your Pregnancy Is Going Well in The First Trimester
Framework: 15 Signs Your (Journey or Entity) Is Going Well (In the beginning)
Hook score: +913
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
Desire – Pregnant women would love to see signs their pregnancy is going well.
New – This one might be a bit of a stretch, but in the first trimester pregnancy is new, exciting, and nerve-wracking, so it’s calling out a specific audience. Plus, later in pregnancy there’s often a clear sign the baby is doing well that you don’t have in the first trimester: the baby kicking.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the signs a new thing is going well.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 15 Signs Your New YouTube Channel Is Going Well
- 10 Signs A Relationship Looks Promising After The First Date
The Future Is Here
Title: The future of social media | 2025 trends you NEED to know
Framework: The future of (Niche) | (Upcoming or current year) trends you NEED to know
Hook score: +1080
Why this works:
Curiosity & Desire – Everybody wants to know what the future holds, but nobody actually knows, so the future is such a great topic because its full of curiosity and desire.
Timeliness – This video was published at the end of 2024, when 2025 was on everybody’s mind.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the future of your industry and current trends they need to know.
Examples of this framework in action:
- The future of interior design | 2025 trends you NEED to know
- The future of gardening | 2025 trends you NEED to know

Pastor Problems
Title: If You Hear a Pastor SKIP This Verse… RUN!! (Here’s What They Are Hiding)
Framework: If You Hear a (Authority Figure) (Avoid Entity)… RUN!! (Here’s What They Are Hiding)
Hook score: +2403
Why this works:
Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know what “this verse” is.
Negativity – This has lots of drama and conspiracy, which people love.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that if an authority figure they trust is skipping something, they should run.
Examples of this framework in action:
- If Your Financial Advisor SKIPS This Step… RUN!! (Here’s What They Are Hiding)
- If Your Lawyer IGNORES This Law… RUN! (Here’s What They Are Hiding)
Daily Drawing
Title: One Trick to Draw Everyday with Ease
Framework: One Trick to (Desirable, but sometimes difficult activity) Everyday with Ease
Hook score: +3150
Why this works:
Desire – This creator’s audience would love to easily draw every day.
Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know what the “one trick” is.
Daily – There’s something about doing an activity every day that’s exciting. It’s tangible and aspirational, so talking about doing things every day can be great to use in titles.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about one trick to do something they want to do, but is sometimes difficult to stick with, every day with ease.
Examples of this framework in action:
- One Trick to Eat Healthy Everyday with Ease
- One Trick to Meditate Everyday with Ease
Less is More
Title: Why Studying Less will Give You an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE
Framework: Why (Counterintuitive Statement)
Hook score: +3443
Why this works:
Curiosity – This is counterintuitive. How can studying less give you an advantage?
Desire – This leverages desire in two ways:
- Everybody would love to study less.
- Everybody wants an unfair advantage.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how doing something counterintuitive and desirable will give them an unfair advantage.
Examples of this framework in action:
- Why Eating MORE Can Help You Lose Weight
- Why Running Slower Will Make You FASTER
Flop of the Week
Title: A Mother Forgives and “ADOPTS” Her Son’s MURDERER… (True Story)
Hook score: -95
Why this flopped: Here are some of the most-viewed titles on this channel:
- If You Hear a Pastor SKIP This Verse… RUN!! (Here’s What They Are Hiding)
- They “REMOVED” This Verse From The Bible!! (WHY??)
- Pastors Want This Video BANNED!! (You’ll See Why)
Two things are clear from these titles:
- The videos are about Christianity
- The videos are educational
This title doesn’t meet either of those criteria.
It’s a story and doesn’t say anything about Christianity, which is probably a big part of why it didn’t get as many views as most of the other videos on this channel.
Two things he could do:
First, make it clear that this video is about a Christian to attract the right audience:
“Christian Woman Forgives and “ADOPTS” Her Son’s MURDERER… (True Story)”
(Note that we’re using a keyword not to let the algorithm know what this video is about, but to let the audience know.)
The other option is to spin it in an educational way:
“The Bible Verse That Let This Woman Forgive and “ADOPT” Her Son’s MURDERER”
To avoid a flop like this on your channel, know why people watch your channel and deliver on that premise in each video.
