Title: Psychopathic Stalker Goes Before the Wrong Judge

Framework: (Polarizing Entity) (Action) the Wrong (Entity)

Hook score: +1478

Why this works:

Curiosity – This title does a great job of starting a story to grab your attention. It’s a cliffhanger that uses tension and almost forces you to click because you’ve got to see what happens.

Negativity – “Psychopathic Stalker” and “Wrong Judge” bring some drama and conflict to get you interested in this video.

How you can use this framework: Use a cliffhanger to build tension around a story involving dramatic characters.

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to stop doomscrolling by using something more wholesome, like this notebook.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about a simple product that fixes or replaces a problem.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • A keyboard to stop distractions

Flop of the Week

judge disanto thumbnail

Title: Judge DiSanto Calls This Court Case Her “Daily Disaster”

Hook score: -92

Why this flopped: People make this mistake all the time: using proper names at the wrong time.

Unless the person’s name is a household name, like Elon Musk or LeBron James, it’s often better to use their position, like judge, NBA player, etc.

This is because if people don’t immediately recognize the name, that may cause them to not be interested in the video. On the other hand, everybody will immediately recognize “judge.”

On top of that, it seems like the audience isn’t really into this angle.

Here are a few other angles:

“This Court Case Ruined This Judge’s Life”

This adds a bit more drama and may be too hyperbolic, but people do love drama.

“Drunk Defendant Accidentally Makes His Case A Lot Worse”

Again adding more drama here, but it’s also a bit more interesting because it gives more detail about the defendant, as opposed to the vague, “daily disaster”.

If your initial angle isn’t working, switch it up and try something new, don’t just make tiny little changes.
