I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.
P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.
It’s Going Down
Title: Something is About to Happen in America (Are You Ready?)
Framework: Something is About to Happen in [Niche, place or industry] (Are You Ready?)
Hook score: +563
Why this works:
Curiosity – This builds curiosity 3 ways:
- It’s about the future and the future is a naturally curiosity-filled topic.
- It’s secretive and makes you want to know what’s going to happen.
- It finishes with a question.
Negativity – This title hints at fear and doom and people love to consume that content.
Timeliness – This is about a current event, which almost adds some urgency to this title.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that something is about to happen in their niche.
Examples of this framework in action:
- Something is About to Happen in Real Estate (Are You Ready?)
- Something is About to Change in AI (Are You Ready?)

Title: Why Men Stopped Wearing Suspenders

Hook score: +2042
Why this works:
Curiosity – Stopping doing something popular or common is a great way to build curiosity because it’s counterintuitive. Why would people stop doing something popular or common?
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience why a group stopped doing something common or popular.

- Why Men Stopped Smoking Pipes
- Why Nobody Speaks Latin Anymore

Flop of the Week
Title: How To Clean Your Engine Bay For CHEAP!
Hook score: -87
Why this flopped: I don’t know about you, but I’ve never thought, “Oh, I can’t wait to learn about how to clean my engine bay!”
Now this could be an SEO play and this video may get lots of views over time.
But also, sometimes you have to make a video about an unsexy topic.
Maybe a sponsor requested it, a small part of your core audience begs for it, or it promotes a product you sell.
So let’s brainstorm ways to make this title more clickable.
We could make it more tangible, yet still add curiosity:
“The $10 Cleaning Hack Every Car Lover Needs To Do”
We could add some FOMO:
“The Most Powerful Car Cleaning Step You’re Probably Not Doing”
Or, if we’re sticking with the SEO game plan, we could be a little more specific about the benefits of this video:
“How To Clean Your Engine Bay For $10 In 10 Minutes”
