I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”

And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Magnesium Mistake

Title: The #1 Magnesium Mistake Everyone Makes

Framework: The #1 (Entity) Mistake Everyone Makes

Outlier score: 2.5x

Why this works:

Negativity – Nobody wants to make a mistake, and this title does a great job of leveraging that.

Social Proof – “Everyone” brings some social proof here and makes you feel like you’re probably making this mistake, too.

Scarcity – This isn’t about a list of mistakes, it’s about just one.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the #1 mistake everyone makes.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The #1 RV Mistake Everyone Makes
  • The #1 Putting Mistake Everyone Makes

Title: 17 Video Game Bosses That Forced You To CHEAT

Framework: 17 (Hard things) That Forced You To CHEAT

Outlier score: 5.7x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Show don’t tell – Instead of just saying that these video game bosses are really hard, this title shows you they’re hard by claiming they forced you to cheat.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about things that were so challenging you were forced to cheat (or other similarly dramatic activity).

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 10 Worst European Cities That Make Me Proud To Be An American
  • 10 New Albums So Bad I Was Forced To Turn Them Off

Do This Before You Publish Your Next Video

The best YouTubers create multiple titles and thumbnails and compare how they look together BEFORE they publish their videos.

Creator Hooks’ Studio feature lets you do just that, plus:

  • See how they actually look on YouTube next to other videos
  • See how your combos will look on different devices
  • Give you different views of your thumbnail to simulate how people will look at it (like the blur test and the tiny test)

Title: Coastal Delaware Areas Everyone is LEAVING

Framework: (Entities) Everyone is LEAVING

Outlier score: 10.0x

Why this works:

Negativity – Places everyone is “LEAVING” brings some drama and maybe even fear if you’re in the area or looking to move there.

Social Proof – “Everyone” brings some social proof here and makes these areas even less desirable.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about places or things everyone is leaving (or some other similar, negative action).

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Popular Exercises Everyone is QUITTING
  • AI Tools Everyone is CANCELLING

Outlier score: 22.2x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Authority – “Pros” brings some trust and credibility to these secrets.

Curiosity – This makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about secrets the pros don’t tell the beginners.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 3 Photography Secrets Pros Don’t Tell Hobby Photographers
  • 3 Guitar Secrets Pros Don’t Tell Beginner Guitar Players

Flop of the Week

agape explained

Title: Agape: The Love That Doesn’t Exist in English

Outlier score: .2x

Why this flopped: I love that this title sparks a question: how does this love not exist in English?

However, something clearly didn’t work well here. It’s very possible that this title was too clever and the question was just too confusing.

It’s also possible that the thumbnail text isn’t grabbing the audience’s attention.

Is Agape a popular topic for this niche? Is it popular enough to lead with that in the title or thumbnail text?

Here’s another option for this packaging:

Title: “It’s Embarrassing There’s No English Word For This Type of Love”

Thumbnail Text: “The Best Kind of Love”

Both of these are more broadly appealing and just talk about the kind/type of love, instead of dropping it’s name, “agape”.

Why this flopped: Here’s a similar title that did well for this channel: “How To Make Your Colors Feel Right (Lightroom Tutorial)” (84K views).

The video that did well leads with an outcome, but this one just focuses on the tool, so that could be a reason it didn’t do well.

Extreme – By positioning this guy as the most hated, it makes this title extreme, bold, and unique.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the most hated (or similarly negative emotion) person or thing in your space.

Examples of this framework in action:

Curiosity – Different levels of things naturally build curiosity because there’s contrast between them.

Status – This is about status and how you’re treated differently based on your status.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about how you’re treated differently at different levels.

  1. “The Real Reason” makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
  2. “Until You Do This” opens a loop and makes you want to know what “this” is.

Negativity – This grabs people’s attention and interest because it’s about a problem many people face: AI just telling you what you want to know and not the truth.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the real reason a problem happens until they do “this”.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The Real Reason Your Tomatoes Aren’t Growing – Until You Do This

Flop of the Week

kling 3.0

Title: Kling 3.0 Multi-Shot Prompts Is it Game Changer or Gimmick?

Outlier score: .11x

Why this flopped: There are two main things I think could be better here.

First, bold, opinionated statements often do better than questions like this. It might’ve done better if the title was, “Kling 3.0 Multi-Shot Prompts Is A Game Changer”.

But then we need to ask ourselves, are people actually into Kling 3.0 Multi-Shot Prompts?

Based on this video’s performance, I’m guessing not. So if it were me, I’d probably zoom out and just try to build desire and curiosity by focusing on the benefits and using broadly appealing language.

Something like, “This New Multi-Shot AI Is Changing The Game”.

Epic – “Can’t Believe How Impossible” gives this video a bit of an epic feeling.

Negativity – Invading the USA is a controversial, polarizing topic, which does a great job of grabbing people’s attention.

Framework: This (Person) Refuses to (Activity you’d assume they’d do)

Outlier score: 19.7x

Why this works:

Curiosity – This kid is unexpected and unique, and both of those attributes build curiosity. It’s counterintuitive that a teenager wouldn’t wear modern clothes.

Also, the contrasting image of the young kid in old school clothes adds to the curiosity.

Negativity – “Refuses” is a great word that adds conflict to this video.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the person who refuses to do something we assume they would do.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • This Millionaire Refuses to Invest In The Stock Market
  • This Rock Star Refuses To Listen To Popular Music

Flop of the Week

cuter characters

Title: Making my characters CUTER!

Outlier score: 0.36x

Why this flopped: I don’t really have data behind this, but here’s my hunch: people don’t want improvements on things, they want something totally new.

“Cuter” is meh because people are attracted to different things, not slight improvements on the same thing.

I’m wondering if “Making my nice characters EVIL” would’ve done better because there’s more contrast. (I know this isn’t what this video is about, but this is more along the lines of what I’m thinking would work better here.)

Or “Small tweaks that Totally Changed My Characters Vibe” (again, contrast).

Or even “Making my characters HOT AF!” (this may not be her vibe, but it might’ve done better because it’s bolder).

Putting this into different context, a video titled “Making my YouTube videos BETTER!” likely wouldn’t do as well as “This Changed My YouTube Channel Forever”.

Negativity – This ends with a warning to add even more stakes to this video.

Authority – Instead of just “how to fix it”, this title builds trust by promising to explain the neuroscience behind it.

But why did it get so few views?

There could be a million reasons, but I think the title could be a little better. Here are some ideas:

“The Best Guitar Lesson For Beginners In 2026”

This a little plain, but 1) the video was published at the very end of 2025, when 2026 was on everybody’s mind and 2) it’s more clear and straightforward, which is fine in this case because it’s a proven idea.

“The 8 Minute Guitar Lesson Every Beginner Needs To Watch”

Time frames and the word “Every” have proven to do very well on YouTube.

“I Wish Somebody Told Me This When I First Tried To Learn Guitar”

The other two titles above are more straightforward, but if that’s not working, like maybe because this idea is too competitive right now, then we could try something like this that focuses more on building curiosity.

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!

Buzzing the Burns

Title: Stop Trimming Your Sideburns WRONG!

Framework: Stop (Simple activity) WRONG!

Outlier score: 3.8x

Why this works:

Negativity – Warning people to stop doing something wrong (that they assume they’re doing right) is a great way to grab their attention.

Curiosity – For many people, this is counterintuitive. What’s shown in the picture is exactly how they trim their sideburns.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience to stop doing something wrong that they assume they’re doing right.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Stop Gripping Your Tennis Racket WRONG!
  • Stop Hiring Lawyers For DUIs!

Title: The 5 Rules of Every British Pub (that tourist mess up)

Framework: The 5 Rules of Every [Entity] (that [Group] mess up)

Outlier score: 4.7x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Negativity – This leverages fear that you’ll accidentally break one of these rules.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the rules of something (ideally, something interesting or polarizing) that many people mess up.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The 5 Rules of First Dates (that guys mess up)
  • The 5 Rules of Driving a Supercar (that amateurs mess up)

Title: the kind of focus that makes you immune to distraction

Framework: the kind of (Skill) that makes you immune to (Problem)

Outlier score: 9.4x

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to get better at focusing.

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you wonder what kind of focus this is.

Negativity – Mentioning a specific problem (distraction) grabs the audience’s attention here.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the kind of skill that makes them immune to a problem.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • the kind of training that makes you never get tired
  • the kind of garden that’s immune to pests and disease

Title: How I Built a Product the Same Way Lululemon Finds Winners

Framework: How I (Activity) the Same Way (Authority figure succeeds)

Outlier score: 12.7x

Why this works:

Authority – This creator builds trust by dropping in Lululemon’s name.

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to build a winning product.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about how you did something the same way an authority in your space did it.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How I Built a Podcast the Same Way Diary of a CEO Built Theirs
  • How I Cook Steak the Same Way Bern’s Steakhouse Cooks It

Title: 10 EVERYDAY Things That HURT’S Your Baby’s FEELINGS (STOP NOW)

Framework: 10 EVERYDAY Things That [Unwanted result] (STOP NOW)

Outlier score: 29.7x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Negativity – No parent wants to hurt their baby’s feelings, so they feel like they have to watch this video.

Curiosity – It’s counterintuitive that innocent, everyday things would hurt a baby’s feelings.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about innocent, everyday things that have a negative effect.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 10 EVERYDAY Cleaning Products That Are Actually Toxic (STOP NOW)
  • 10 Tech Products You Use Every Day That HURT Your Body (STOP NOW)

Flop of the Week

fix this presentation

Title: The Presentation Problem Killing Your Service Business

Outlier score: 0.2x

Why this flopped: This title is too specific.

Now, the idea might be too specific, and maybe it wasn’t the best idea to start with, but let’s pretend that we’re this creator and we have to make a video about presentations killing our service business.

The issue is that the audience might have this presentation problem, but not realize it, so they think this video isn’t for them.

In this case, it might’ve gotten more views if she made the title more vague and broadly appealing, while honing in on the problem or benefit.

“These 3 Words Are Killing Your Service Business”

“This Simple Change Earned Him An Extra $10,000 Last Month”

Of course, if you go with a title like this, you need to sell the viewer on why watching your video is so important to them, so they don’t think you’re clickbaiting them, but you could also say that about every other video.

If they don’t click at all, you have no chance of helping them out.

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!

People love new

5 new rv hacks

Title: 5 New RV Hacks I’ve Never Done Before!

Framework: 5 New (Niche) Hacks I’ve Never Done Before!

Outlier score: 4.6x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Desire – This creator’s audience is into RV hacks.

New – People love new things, so “New” and “I’ve Never Done Before” both promise that here.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about new hacks you’ve never done before.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 5 New Gardening Hacks I’ve Never Done Before!
  • 5 New Keto Recipes I’ve Never Tried Before!

Title: If I Wanted to Make My First $100K in 2026, I’d Do This

Framework: If I Wanted to (Achieve goal for the first time) in (Current year), I’d Do This

Outlier score: 4.7x

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to make their first $100K.

Beginners – “Make My First $100K” calls out beginner(ish) people on this journey, so it’s a pretty broad audience. Also, people looking to make their first $100K feel like this video was made specifically for them.

Curiosity – Not specifying what “This” is opens a loop and makes you want to know what he’d do.

Year – Dropping in the current year lets the audience know this is relevant right now.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience what you’d do if you want to achieve a goal for the first time this year.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • If I Wanted to Get My First Girlfriend in 2026, I’d Do This
  • If I Wanted to Learn Guitar In 2026, I’d Do This

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to improve their face (a lot).

Curiosity – This builds curiosity in two ways:

  1. The word “Weird” automatically builds curiosity.
  2. It’s counterintuitive that weird beauty habits would actually improve your face.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about weird habits that actually helped you achieve a goal.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 5 Weird Photography Habits That ACTUALLY Improved My Pictures (a lot)
  • 5 Weird Investing Habits That ACTUALLY Made Me Rich (really rich)

Fluency Failure

learn any language in 3 months

Title: Everyone Learns Languages Wrong (Here’s What Works)

Framework: Everyone [Action] Wrong (Here’s What Works)

Outlier score: 7.5x

Why this works:

Negativity – This leverages the fear that you’re learning languages wrong.

Social Proof – The word “Everyone” calls out the viewer, saying they’re probably learning languages wrong, but also makes it a little more believable they’re doing it wrong because everybody else is, too.

Curiosity & Desire – The “(Here’s What Works)” at the end opens a loop and makes a promise, so it builds both curiosity and desire.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that everyone is doing something wrong, and promise to tell them what works.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Everyone Uses ChatGPT Wrong (Here’s The Best Way)
  • Everyone Visits The Wrong European Cities (Here’s Where You SHOULD Go)

Grandma’s Gems

sewing machine needle with 2 bobbins

Title: Grandma’s 9 Easy Golden Sewing Tips in 5 Minutes!

Framework: (Authority Figure’s) 9 Easy Golden (Activity) Tips in 5 Minutes!

Outlier score: 11.6x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Authority – When it comes to sewing tips, Grandmas are authority figures.

Desire – This channel’s audience is into easy sewing tips.

Time Frame – The time frame of “5 Minutes” adds to the desire (it’s short), sets expectations, and makes this video feel more tangible (and, therefore, more interesting).

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about an authority figure’s easy tips in a short time frame.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Warren Buffett’s 7 Easy Investing Tips in 5 Minutes
  • 9 Simple Caveman Outdoor Survival Tips in 5 Minutes!

Flop of the Week

upgrade rv furnace

Title: RV Furnace Upgrade! Fogatti RV Furnace Install.

Outlier score: 0.25x

Why this flopped: This is a very narrow title — unless you’re specifically wanting to know about the Fogatti RV Furnace, you’re likely not interested in this video.

There are a few things we could do about this:

First, we could accept that this video will get fewer views in the short term.

The viewers it does get are probably very valuable if you’re an affiliate for the Fogatti RV Furnace, and it may keep getting more views over time by ranking in search.

Or, if we just wanted to maximize views, we could make the title more broadly appealing. Here are some examples:

“I Wish Somebody Told Me About This RV Upgrade 10 Years Ago”

“This Simple RV Upgrade Has Changed My RV Experience Forever”

These only focus on the benefit and building curiosity.

If you find yourself in this situation, the answer depends on your goals for the video and for your channel in general.

Love Last

men crave this energy

Title: Men DON’T Want Love First… They Want THIS Instead

Framework: (Entity) DON’T Want (Entity) First… They Want THIS Instead

Hook score: 3.6x

Why this works:

Curiosity – This opens a loop in two ways:

  1. By telling you what men don’t want, it makes you wonder what they do want.
  2. Using the word “THIS” and not specifying what “THIS” is.

Negativity – “Men DON’T Want Love First” is a bit of a warning.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience what something in your niche doesn’t want, and that they want “THIS” instead.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The Algorithm DOESN’T Want Better Videos… It Wants THIS Instead
  • You Don’t Need More Willpower To Succeed… You Need THIS Instead

Renovation Innovation

house being built

Title: Construction Just Changed Forever — And Nobody’s Talking About It

Framework: (Entity) Just Changed Forever — And Nobody’s Talking About It

Hook score: 6.1x

Why this works:

Curiosity – This builds curiosity in two ways:

  1. “Changed Forever” opens a loop and makes you wonder what changed.
  2. “Nobody’s Talking About It” makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.

News & Epic – In “Just Changed Forever”, “Just” makes this feel like news, and “Forever” gives it a bit more of an epic feeling and raises the stakes.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about something that just changed forever, and nobody’s talking about it.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • RVing Just Changed Forever — And Nobody’s Talking About It
  • Mega Churches Just Changed Forever — And Nobody’s Talking About It

Framework: 7 Things I Can’t Enjoy Anymore After (Activity or milestone)

Hook score: 8.6x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Negativity – Everybody loves drama and struggle like this.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about things you can’t enjoy anymore after a big change.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 7 Things I Can’t Enjoy Anymore After Losing 50 lbs

Rich Residents

Title: Where the Old Money ACTUALLY Lives in Jacksonville

Framework: Where the (Aspirational entity) ACTUALLY (Activity) in (Specific place)

Hook score: 12.2x

Why this works:

Curiosity – “ACTUALLY” makes you feel like you’re finally getting the truth or getting in on a secret.

“Old Money” brings authority (if you’re rich and looking for where to live in Jacksonville) and interest, since many videos about “Old Money” are doing well on YouTube these days.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience where or what authority figures are ACTUALLY doing.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Where Locals ACTUALLY Eat Pizza In Italy
  • What Lawyers ACTUALLY Do When They Get Pulled Over

A lot for a little

a level

Title: 15 Little Inventions that Solved MASSIVE PROBLEMS

Framework: 15 Little (Entities) that (Achieved big goals)

Hook score: 18.7x

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Curiosity – The contrast between “Little Inventions” and “MASSIVE PROBLEMS” builds curiosity and interest.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about little things that made a big difference.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 15 Little Apps that Make MASSIVE Money
  • 15 Little Decisions that Changed MASSIVE Moments in History

Flop of the Week

where did you go?

Title: February Is When Most People Fail…Here’s Why

Hook score: 0.04x

Why this flopped: This video probably flopped for two reasons.

The first is that there’s not enough context in the title and thumbnail.

The video is about your New Year’s Resolutions failing, but it’s not clear enough.

When people are scrolling YouTube, they’re not really actively thinking, so your packaging needs to be crystal clear on what your video is about and who it’s for.

Here’s one way of rewording it:

“February Is When Most People Ruin Their New Year’s Resolutions…Here’s Why”

(Yes, this is a little long, but the most important bits are in the beginning, so it’s probably fine.)

Or something like this:

“You’ve Already Failed Your New Year’s Resolution… Here’s Why”

The second, and more important, reason this flopped is that it doesn’t really fit with the rest of the channel.

All of the other videos are specifically about military life, but this one isn’t.

I love the fact that he branched out and experimented with something new, but it doesn’t always work.

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Career Killer

Adobe RIP

Title: Adobe Just Killed My Career

Framework: (Popular tool) Just Killed My (Possession)

Hook score: 2.4x

Why this works:

Negativity – This leverages negativity in two ways:

  1. People love drama like this.
  2. A lot of people are scared of this same thing happening to them.

News – The word “Just” also makes this feel like news.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about a dramatic event that just happened (that could happen to them).

Examples of this framework in action:

  • ChatGPT Just Killed My Business
  • Carnival Just Killed Cruises

Walking Wonders

stop doing 10,000 steps

Title: I Tested 7 Walking Hacks to Burn More Fat Than 10,000 Steps

Framework: I Tested 7 (Activity) Hacks to (Achieve goal better than current standard method)

Hook score: 3.2x

Why this works:

Credibility – “I Tested” brings some credibility, trust, and believability.

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Curiosity – This challenges the assumption that 10,000 steps is the best way to walk and burn fat.

Desire – This creators audience would love hacks to burn more fat.

How you can use this framework: Test hacks that achieve a goal better than the current most popular method.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • I Tested 7 Morning Routines to Get More Done In A Morning Than A 16-Hour Day
  • I Tested 7 Meal Prep Hacks to Lose 30 Lbs In 6 Months

New Creator Hooks is Here!

We’ve been working hard for the last 3 months and have totally rebuilt Creator Hooks.

Here are some of the new features:

  • An AI chatbot to generate titles and thumbnail text, and help you with strategic decisions
  • An outlier database so you can easily find proven videos for inspiration

  • A title and thumbnail preview tool to help you decide which title and thumbnail to go with

P.S. Here’s what one person said about a title we generated for her:

Glitch Game

me hiding

Title: Using GLITCHES To Cheat In Rivals Hide & Seek!

Framework: Using GLITCHES To (Activity) In (Entity)

Hook score: 6.6x

Why this works:

Curiosity – “Glitches” bring so much interest and have curiosity baked in because they’re unique and abnormal.

Negativity – “Cheat” is a more controversial and attention-grabbing word than something more bland and acceptable like “win”.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about glitches you used to cheat the system.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Using GLITCHES To Cheat The YouTube Algorithm
  • Using Legal GLITCHES To Outsmart The Cops

Derp derp derp

stupid things

Title: Things You Do That Science Has Proven Makes You Dumber

Framework: Things You Do That Science Has Proven Makes You (Unwanted attribute)

Hook score: 7.2x

Why this works:

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you wonder what these things are.

Negativity – Nobody wants to get dumber, so this title leverages that fear.

Authority – Dropping in “Science” adds some authority and trust here.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about things they do that actually move them away from their goal, that’s proven by an authority figure.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Exercises You Do That Science Has Proven Makes You Slower
  • Things You Do That The Bible Says Makes You Less Christ-like

It’s finally my time

regular person

Title: How “Regular” People Are Blowing Up On Youtube in 2026

Framework: How “Regular” People Are (Achieving goal) in 2026

Hook score: 8.4x

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to blow up on YouTube.

Specific audience & refuting an objection – By saying this video is for “regular” people it:

  1. Calls out the exact audience this video is for.
  2. Refutes the objection that you have to be special, unique, etc. to blow up on YouTube.

Year – Dropping in the current year grabs the audience’s attention and makes it clear this video is relevant right now.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how “regular” people are achieving a special goal in the current year.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How “Regular” People Are Making Viral Apps in 2026
  • How “Bad” Golfers Are Breaking 80 in 2026

Flop of the Week

people in powerful jobs

Title: People in Powerful Positions That Prove The System Is Still Broken Today

Hook score: 0.01x

Why this flopped: I think there are two reasons this video didn’t do that well.

The first is that it’s worded a little awkwardly.

“People in Powerful Positions That Prove” is just way too many Ps.

“Powerful People That Prove The System Is Still Broken Today” is simpler and easier to read.

We could also use more emotional language, like:

“Evil Leaders That Prove The System Is Still Broken Today”

The second (and most important) is that the idea is too political. Most of the videos that have done well for this channel lean more towards science:

  • “Terrifying Things That Science Still Cannot Explain” (270K views)
  • “Scientifically Proven Facts People Still Cannot Believe” (457K views)
  • “Things You Do That Science Has Proven Makes You Dumber” (425K views)

It’s possible that these viewers just aren’t into spicy political takes from this channel.

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!

Sickly Soil

stop using this soil

Title: The Soil Mix Slowly POISONING Your Garden Beds

Framework: The (Entity) Slowly (Harming) Your (Possession)

Hook score: +307

Why this works:

Negativity – This leverages fear to get people to click. And “Slowly” makes this a little bit more specific and sinister.

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know which soil mix this is.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that something is slowly harming something you own.

Saucy Secrets

steak and A1 sauce

Title: A.1. Sauce Was Never intended For Steak…

Framework: (Entity) Was Never intended For (Apparent intention)…

Hook score: +346

Why this works:

Curiosity – This is counterintuitive because everybody assumes A1 was made for steak.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about how something that is largely used for one reason was actually never intended to.

Grandpa Goals

Title: The Longevity Lie No One Talks About

Framework: The (Subject) Lie No One Talks About

Hook score: +443

Why this works:

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know what this lie is. It also makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.

Negativity – People love dramatic things, like lies.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about a lie in your niche that nobody talks about.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The RV Lie No One Talks About
  • The Vibe Coding Lie No One Talks About

Oozing Aura

charismatic

Title: The Key to Being SO Charismatic People Want To Be Around You.

Framework: The Key to Being SO (Desired attribute) (Desired outcome).

Hook score: +809

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to be so charistmatic people want to be around them.

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know what the key is.

There’s also a bit of “show don’t tell” going on here. This title could be “How To Be SUPER Charismatic”, but being so charismatic “People Want To Be Around You”, does a better job of showing the end goal.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the key to doing something extremely well.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The Key to Being SO Persuasive Clients Say Yes Before You Finish Talking
  • The Key to Being SO Fun Your Kids Choose You Over Their Friends

Ratchet Regrets

unsafe tool

Title: You’re Using Ratchet Straps Wrong

Framework: You’re Using (Simple tool) Wrong

Hook score: +1081

Why this works:

Negativity – Nobody wants to do something the wrong way, so this title leverages that fear.

Curiosity – This makes you wonder what the right way to use ratchet straps is. Also, if a lot of people use ratchet straps like how they show in the thumbnail, it’s counterintuitive because those people think thats how to use them.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that they’re using something wrong.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • You’re Gripping Your Driver Wrong
  • You’re Using ChatGPT Wrong

Flop of the Week

foods with dyes

Title: Why Food Dye HAD To Die

Hook score: -65

Why this flopped: This video was probably doomed from the start.

It’s too obvious. Food dye isn’t exactly known for being healthy, so it’s not that big of a mystery of why it had to die.

Instead of focusing on the obvious, this title might’ve done better if it was a little bit more vague and curiosity-building.

“The Hidden Poison In 90% Of The Food You Eat”

“We Ate This Poison For 45 Years Before It Was Banned”

These titles aren’t factually correct, but they’re just an example of how you could refocus the title to build a question in your audience’s mind that they actually want answered.
