5 Tiny Habits That Will Change Your Channel Forever

I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”

And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Btw, if you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles ever featured in Creator Hooks, check out Creator Hooks Pro.

A Lot For A Little

Title: Tighten & Flatten Your Stomach in 1 Move (No Sit-Ups or Gym) Dr. Mandell

Framework: [Achieve Goal] in 1 [Activity] (No [Unwanted Activity])

Hook score: +401

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience wants to tighten and flatten their stomach.

Curiosity – The constraint of getting a flatter belly “in 1 Move” builds curiosity (What’s the move? How can you get a flatter belly in just one move?) and adds to the desire.

Refute Objection – The audience might be thinking they don’t want to have to do sit-ups or go to the gym, so this title gets rid of those excuses which makes them more likely to watch. (This also adds to the desire.)

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how they can achieve a big goal with little effort and without having to do the things they don’t want to do.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • Get a Perfect Driver Swing With This Simple Drill (No Expensive Pro Lessons)
  • Speak Fluent Spanish in One Week (No Memorizing Useless Vocabulary)

Trend Stacking

Title: The BEST A.I. Passive Income Side Hustle 2024

Framework: The BEST (Trending Activity To Achieve Goal) (Current Year)

Hook score: +449

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love a passive income side hustle.

Timeliness – This title uses timeliness two ways:

  1. It was published in the beginning of 2024, so dropping “2024” in the title grabs the audience’s attention.
  2. It includes all the trending buzzwords: A.I., Passive Income, and Side Hustle.

I also love that this title is a bold and extreme statement — The BEST Side Hustle.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how they can reach their goals using the most trending buzzwords.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The BEST A.I. Real Estate Flipping Side Hustle 2024
  • The BEST Crypto Currency To Buy In 2024

Notion New New

notion calendar app thumbnail

Title: Notion’s New Calendar App is a Game-Changer

Framework: (Company)’s New (Tool) is a Game-Changer

Hook score: +456

Why this works:

Timeliness – People love new things.

Curiosity – “Game-Changer” works so well because it adds to the desire, but it’s vague, so it makes you want to know what’s so cool about the app.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how a new tool or feature is a “Game-Changer.”

Examples of this framework in action:

  • ChatGPT’s New AI Image Generator is a Game-Changer
  • NBA’s New 3-Pointer Rule is a Game-Changer

Small But Mighty

easy habits thumbnail

Title: 50 Easy Habits That Will Change Your Life Forever

Framework: 50 (Desirable) Habits That Will Change Your Life Forever

Hook score: +595

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.

Desire – This creator’s audience (and most people, really) would love to change their life forever. “Easy” in the title and “Tiny” in the thumbnail also add to the desire because it makes these habits seem easy.

Curiosity – “Change Your Life Forever” (like Game-Changer above) adds to the desire, but is open-ended, so it let’s your mind run wild with whatever you want, while also wondering what he’ll talk about in the video.

Habits – “Habits” is one of the most frequent words I see in successful YouTube titles.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about a lot of habits that will change their life forever.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 50 60-Second Habits That Will Change Your Life Forever
  • 20 Morning Habits That Will Change Your Life Forever

Future Plans

retirement portfolio thumbnail

Title: How Much Can I Expect To Spend In Retirement with a $2 Million Portfolio?

Framework: How Much Can I Expect To (Activity) In (Specific Situation) with (Asset)?

Hook score: +609

Why this works:

Curiosity – This builds curiosity by asking a question many people in this creator’s audience are asking themselves.

Specific Audience – If somebody has a $2 Million Retirement Portfolio (or it’s their goal — which is probably more likely), they’re way more likely to click this video than just a generic “How How Much Can I Expect To Spend In Retirement?” video.

How you can use this framework: Ask a big question your audience is asking themselves about when they reach a specific goal or do a specific activity.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How Much Can I Expect To Make On YouTube With 100,000 Subscribers?
  • How Many Pounds Can I Expect To Lose With 15,000 Steps Per Day?

Flop of the Week

eggs thumbnail

Title: How EGGS Protect, Nourish, and Heal the Brain! Dr. Mandell

Hook score: -82

Why this flopped: Typically, more people want to know what helps you achieve your goals, rather than how they do it.

You don’t need to know how eggs help your brain to enjoy the benefits of eating eggs.

Here are a few different angles this creator could’ve taken for this title:

He could’ve added some curiosity and made the audience wonder what food he was talking about:

  • “The BEST Breakfast Food To Protect & Nourish Your Brain In 2024”

Here’s another way he could’ve added curiosity:

  • “Protect & Heal Your Brain By Eating This For Breakfast Every Day”

Or he could’ve gone the negative route:

  • “Big Mistakes Everybody Makes When Cooking Eggs”

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!
