Framework: The (Number) (Entities) Every (Person Who Does Activity) Needs to (Activity)
Hook score: +346
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
Desire – This creator’s audience wants to learn about delicious sauces.
Curiosity – The way this is written opens a loop and makes you wonder what these sauces are.
“Every” – The word “every” makes this list feel more epic, interesting, and relevant for, well, every chef.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the things everyone in your niche needs to do.

Legendary Licks
Title: Why Did LEGENDARY Guitarists Do This?

Authority – This video has credibility because it’s about what the legendary guitarists did.
Curiosity – This builds curiosity by asking a question.
How you can use this framework: Ask why the legends in your niche did something, and in the thumbnail show something weird or unexpected.

Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
Curiosity – “NOBODY Tells You” makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
Desire – This creator’s audience wants cybersecurity tips and the “(but are EASY to do)” bit at the end makes these tips even more desirable.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the tips nobody tells them about, but are easy to do.

Curiosity – This makes you wonder what dog breeds he’s talking about (and what dog breeds you shouldn’t get — or if your dog is on this list).
Negativity – People love juicy drama and negativity like this.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the things you hate as a professional.

Sweet Sweet Sweaters
Title: 5 MUST-TRY Crochet Sweater Patterns for Beginners!

Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
Desire – This creator’s audience is into crochet sweater patterns.
Beginners – Calling out beginners in your titles is so powerful because they’re the biggest, most eager-to-learn part of any audience.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the must-try things for beginners.

A/B Test of the Week
Many people overcomplicate their titles and thumbnails.
Here’s an example where simplifying your title to make it more punchy and emotional and focusing on attracting a single group (only freelancers — not freelancers and SMBs), improved the CTR.
