I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Summer Style
Title: 5 Summer Staples Italians Always Wear
Framework: 5 (Seasonal Entity) (Authority Figures) Always (Action)
Hook score: +334
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
Authority – Italians are leaders in the fashion world, which makes this video more appealing.
Timeliness – It’s currently summertime, so summer clothing items are on people’s minds right now.
Desire – This creator’s audience wants to learn more about fashion.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about 5 seasonal or timely things that authorities in your niche do.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 5 Stocks Warren Bufett Is Investing In July 2024
- 5 Delicious Crops I Plant Every Summer
It’s Really Real
Title: When “Gamers” join the real army
Framework: When “(Fakers)” join the real (Entity)
Hook score: +376
Why this works:
Curiosity – The contrast of “Gamers” (who play fake games) and “real army” builds curiosity and humor here.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about how when fakers joined something real.
Examples of this framework in action:
- When regular guys play against NBA players

Title: The ONLY instrument with NO LIMITS
Framework: The ONLY (Item) with NO LIMITS
Hook score: +444
Why this works:
Curiosity – This title builds curiosity two ways:
- It opens a loop and makes you wonder what instrument this is.
- “The ONLY” adds a constraint which makes this way more interesting and adds to the curiosity.
Epic – “NO LIMITS” makes this video feel epic.
Desire – This creator’s audience likes cool instruments.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the only tool with no limits.
Examples of this framework in action:
- The ONLY Business Model with NO LIMITS
- The ONLY Camera with NO LIMITS
An Innocent Warning
Title: Always Sign Your Art (never date it)
Framework: Always [Action] Your [Possession] (never [Similar Action] it)
Hook score: +458
Why this works:
Negativity – “(never date it)” is a warning that grabs your attention.
Curiosity – It’s counterintuitive to “never date” your art. Why wouldn’t you do that? This makes you want to find out why you shouldn’t do something as innocent as signing your art.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that they should always do something, but never do another something similar.
Examples of this framework in action:
- Always Retweet Your Tweets (never like them)
- Always Refrigerate Your Avocados (never leave them out)
Simple But Powerful
Title: How Hanging Transforms Your Body
Framework: How (Simple Action) (Big Result)
Hook score: +1015
Why this works:
Desire – This creator would love to transform their body, especially by doing something as simple as hanging.
Curiosity – This builds curiosity two ways:
- It opens a loop and makes you want to know how it transforms your body and what it does to you.
- It’s a bit counterintuitive because how would something as simple as just hanging transform your body?
New Opportunity – Most videos in this niche are about exercises to help you achieve your goals. Hanging is new*, weird, and simple. If you haven’t tried hanging, and you want to transform your body, this new opportunity gives you hope because this might be the answer you’ve been looking for.
*If you’re in this niche it might not be new to you, but to many people it’s new.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that something new and simple can give them a big result.
Examples of this framework in action:
- How Nasal Breathing Changes Your Life
- How Watching TV Improves Your Spanish
A/B Test of the Week
Title B adds a price tag, which does two powerful things to make this title better:
First, it makes the photography degree feel more tangible. Instead of just any degree, you know it’s an expensive, $6,000 degree.
And second, it increases the stakes. If it was a free degree, you’re not losing much if it’s not worth it.
But since the degree is $6,000, you’re risking a lot more if it’s not worth it.
Making the title more tangible and the stakes higher both make title B more interesting, which helped increase the CTR here.
To use this strategy for your channel, be specific in your title.
Make it clear what your audience is risking or investing and how much they have to lose.
