How to AVOID the YouTube Algorithm Ignoring You

I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”

And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Btw, if you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles ever featured in Creator Hooks, check out Creator Hooks Pro.

What do you think?

Title: I Recreated Rage Against the Machine in Front of Their Producer

Framework: I Recreated (Entity) in Front of (Creator)

Hook score: +348

Why this works:

Authority – Rage Against the Machine’s producer obviously has some authority when it comes to Rage Against the Machine’s Music.

Curiosity – This makes you wonder what the producer thinks about the creator’s rendition. Does he like it? Hate it? Impressed by it?

How you can use this framework: Remake something and show the original creator.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • I Recreated Tesla’s Cybertruck in Front of Elon Musk
  • JK Rowling Reacts To Harry Potter Fan Fiction

Real Life Stakes

Title: I Played GTA With Real Pain

Framework: I (Activity) (Entity) With Real (Negative Consequence)

Hook score: +486

Why this works:

Negativity – People love drama and conflict and playing a game with real pain brings both of these while raising the stakes.

How you can use this framework: Raise the stakes of a game by bringing the consequences to real life.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • I Got Swiped Left In Real Life
  • We Played Super Mario Cart In Real Life

Lambo New New

Title: Lamborghini’s NEW Active Alignment is Revolutionary!

Hook score: +592

Why this works:

Timeliness – People love news and new things and this feels like both.

Desire – This creator’s audience is into all things fast cars.

Framework: How to AVOID (Big, Common Fear)

Hook score: +608

Why this works:

Negativity – This title is all about the audience avoiding one of their biggest, most common fears.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How to AVOID Getting Cancer
  • How to AVOID Slicing Your Driver

Flop of the Week

british cars thumbnail

Title: Cheaper Than JDM: Great British Cars To Import Now

Hook score: -87

Why this flopped: This title is hard to understand and not that exciting.

I’m not a car guy, but I know exactly what “Lamborghini’s NEW Active Alignment is Revolutionary!” (the title featured above from this same channel) means and I like Lamborghinis.

I don’t know what JDM means and I’m not all that excited about great British cars because none easily come to mind.

Again, I’m not a car guy, but if you want lots of views, you need to use simple language that lots of people easily understand and talk about topics that are interesting.

Here are some of the other titles they’ve tried (thanks CreatorML):

  • Great British Cars the US Can Finally Have!
  • Cheaper Than JDM: Great British Cars to Import Now!
  • Never Sold In the US: 5 Great British Cars
  • Cheaper Than JDM: 5 Great British Cars

It seems like “British cars” might not be the best phrase to go with here. They could go more broad and instead of focusing on the fact that these are British cars, emphasize that they’re exclusive and new to the US.

Something like, “Classic Supercars Forbidden In The US”.

But the thumbnail shows a cheap price tag, which doesn’t really fit with the title above. So they could either change the thumbnail to have text that goes with the title above, or they could change the title to go with the thumbnail text.

Something like, “5 Affordable Classic Cars You’re Ignoring”.

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!
