Hook score: +396
Why this works:
Curiosity – This title builds curiosity two ways: 1) Talking about the future builds curiosity because it’s unknown and is an inherently curiosity-filled topic. 2) It opens a loop because you need to click to learn what’s going to be different about this winter.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how something coming up is not going to be what they expect.

Mysterious Message

Hook score: +1956
Why this works:
Timeliness – This video was published the day after the Barbie movie was released, so everybody was talking about it.
This is an excellent example of trendjacking and applying a seemingly unrelated trend to your niche.
How you can use this framework: Take something that’s currently trending and adapt it to your niche.

One-Page Wonder
Title: This One-Page Productivity Hack Will Change Your Life
Framework: This (Limited) (Activity or Goal) Hack Will Change Your Life

Why this works:
Desire – This creator’s audience wants productivity hacks that will change their life.
Constraint – The constraint of “one-page” enhances the desire because it seems simple. It also adds curiosity because it makes you wonder how a small thing like a “one-page” productivity hack can change your life.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about a seemingly simple thing that can change their life.

So Long Supplements

Why this works:
Negativity – Telling your audience to stop doing something they’re currently doing or think is good for them is a great way to get their attention. This also leverages loss aversion because nobody wants to waste money on useless things.
Curiosity – This title makes you want to click to learn what these 7 supplements are.
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience to stop wasting their resources on useless things.

Flop of the Week
Title: BIGGEST Lies on Food Labels: 3 Ways You’re Being TRICKED With Misleading Food Labels | Dr. Gundry
Hook score: -94
Why this flopped: The title and thumbnail are both too complicated.
There’s so much going on that you don’t know what to focus on.
You scroll on by because it’s too much work to try to understand what the video is about.
If I were to rewrite this title, I’d probably use “3 BIGGEST Lies on Food Labels” *or* “3 Ways You’re Being TRICKED With Misleading Food Labels” (not both, like this title did).
