4 YouTube Changes That Will Have a BIG IMPACT in 2023

I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”

And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Btw, if you want to see all of the titles and thumbnails from Creator Hooks in one place, check out Creator Hooks Pro.

Recession Remedy

billionaire blueprint thumbnail

Title: Alex & Leila Hormozi’s Billionaire Blueprint (Recession Proof)

Formula: [Authority Figure]’s [Desirable] Blueprint ([Alleviate Paint Point])

 Hook score: +400

Why this works:

Authority – Alex & Leila Hormozi are two of the most influential people in business right now, so dropping their names gives this title credibility and name recognition.

Desire – This creator’s audience would love a billionaire blueprint.

Timeliness – Since we’re in a recession right now, including “(Recession Proof)” at the end of the title does a great job at grabbing the audience’s attention.

Refute Objection – Continuing on the point above, the audience might thinking, “This billionaire blueprint is cool and all, but we’re in a recession now, so it probably won’t work.” But including “(Recession Proof)” gets rid of that excuse.

How you can use this hook: Tell your audience about an authority figure’s blueprint to help them achieve their goals, and then refute an objection at the end.

Examples of this hook in action:

  • MrBeast’s Million-Subscriber Blueprint (Starting From Scratch)
  • Olympic Runner’s Sub 20 Minute 5K Blueprint (Step By Step Plan)

One-Person Wonder

Title: The Dumbbell Only 1 Person Could Lift

Formula: The (Object) Only 1 Person Could (Action)

Hook score: +435

Why this works:

Curiosity – This title sounds a little too crazy… a dumbbell only 1 person could lift? But it’s also just believable enough that you have to click to see what’s going on. Plus, it’s open ended. Who’s the 1 person? How much does the dumbbell weigh? These questions make you want to click even more.

Constraint – “Only 1 Person Could Lift” adds a constraint, which makes for a much more interesting story.

How you can use this hook: Tell your audience about something that only one person could do.

Examples of this hook in action:

  • The Puzzle Only 1 Person Could Solve
  • The Monument Only 1 Person Can Visit Per Year

Here’s what’ll happen:

  • You’ll be instantly notified if your account is hacked and be connected with a Notch team member right away.

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.

Title: WHY THEY ARE PICKING FIGHTS WITH YOU!

Formula: Why (Pain Point)

Hook score: +622

Why this works:

Negativity – This title and thumbnail are all about addressing a big pain point the audience has.

How you can use this hook: Tell your audience why a crummy thing they have to deal with happens.

Examples of this hook in action:

  • Why You’re Broke
  • Why Your Ecommerce Store Isn’t Getting Sales

New Year New SS

Title: 4 Social Security Changes That Will Have a BIG IMPACT in 2023

Formula: 4 (Entity) Changes That Will Have a BIG IMPACT in (Next Year)

Hook score: +1665

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.

Curiosity – This title builds curiosity two different ways: it talks about change and the future. Both are unknown and open-ended, so you have to click to learn more.

Timeliness – Since it’s near the end of the year, people are looking forward to 2023.

How you can use this hook: Tell your audience about changes that will have a big impact next year.

Examples of this hook in action:

  • 4 Real Estate Tax Changes That Will Have a BIG IMPACT in 2023
  • 4 New Apple Products That Will Have a BIG IMPACT in 2023

Flop of the Week

narcissist love thumbnail

Title: Are Two Narcissists actually “in love?”

Hook score: -77

Why this flopped: Who’s this video about? Narcissists. Who’s probably not watching videos about love because they think they’re the greatest? Narcissists.

This is different from the video mentioned earlier titled, “WHY THEY ARE PICKING FIGHTS WITH YOU!”

That video is about narcissists’ victims, who are hurting and probably watching more YouTube than the narcissists.

So before you make your next video, think about who’s actually watching your videos.

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!

If you know a fellow creator who needs help with writing better titles, please send them to creatorhooks.com.

Here’s to the war on boring content.
