I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.
Btw, if you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles ever featured in Creator Hooks, check out Creator Hooks Pro.
Solid Speaking Skills
Title: 43 minutes straight of SOLID communication skills advice

Time Frame – The time frame of “43 minutes” makes this video more tangible and interesting.
Desire – This creator’s audience wants to get better at communication skills.
How you can use this framework: This is a great example of how to package a compilation video. Put several videos together about a topic your audience wants to learn about and say it’s X minutes straight of solid advice on that topic.

Horrifying History
Title: The Frightening Pagan History of Halloween | Full Special
Framework: The Frightening (Negative Description) History of (Trending Entity)
Hook score: +800
Why this works:
Timeliness – This video was published 9 days before Halloween.
Negativity – This title could’ve been, “The History of Halloween,” but adding some fear and controversy with “Frightening Pagan” makes this title way more interesting.

Fiverr Showdown

Hook score: +7397
Why this works:
Credibility – This title is great because it shows she actually did something interesting, instead of just sharing her thoughts on something.
Curiosity – This does a great job at starting a story, but not finishing it, so you’ve gotta click to find out how the designs turned out.
How you can use this framework: Pay people on Fiverr (or another platform) to do the same thing and then compare the results.
Examples of this framework in action:
- I paid 5 different photographers to take the same family pictures
- I used 5 AI writers to write a sales page for the same product
Flop of the Week
Title: Large Cruise Ships vs Small Cruise Ships – Which is Better?
Hook score: -95
Why this flopped: Apparently people don’t care too much about this topic (although it could get decent search traffic long term).
So what can we do? We can’t change the intro or the content, but we can try to change the angle of the title and how we position the video.
Instead of asking the audience a question, I’d make a bold statement, add my polarizing opinion, and/or build some curiosity:
“The WORST Thing About Large Cruise Ships”
“Why I ONLY Book Small Cruise Ships”
“The #1 Difference Between Small & Large Cruise Ships Every Cruiser Needs To Know”
“I Wish I Knew THIS Before Booking My Last Cruise”
Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!
Hope you enjoyed this week’s edition and if you know a fellow creator who needs help writing better titles, please send them to creatorhooks.com.
