And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

The One and Only

Title: The ONLY CAMERA you will ever need…

Framework: The ONLY (Entity) you will ever need…

Hook score: +446

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience loves cameras.

Curiosity – This builds curiosity two ways:

  1. This opens a loop and makes you wonder what the camera is and why you need it.
  2. “ONLY” adds a constraint which makes this more interesting.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the only thing they’ll ever need.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The ONLY COUNTRY you need to visit…
  • The ONLY PRODUCTIVITY HACK you will ever need…

“Yes, this is deer, who’s calling?”

Speedy Supplements

running supplement thumbnail

Title: How This Supplement Is Changing the Sport of Running

Framework: How This (Controversial Entity) Is Changing (Industry)

Hook score: +780

Why this works:

Curiosity – This title opens two loops:

  1. “This Supplement” is open-ended and makes you want to know what the supplement is.
  2. “Changing” is also open-ended. What’s changing about it?

Negativity – There’s a hint of controversy here since typically people don’t like supplements changing their sport, and the thumbnail text in red supports the thought that this is a negative change.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that something is changing your industry, but build curiosity by not specifying exactly what it is or how it’s changing it.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How This Instrument Is Changing the Music Industry
  • How This New Tool Is Changing the Crafting Industry

Bringing the Drama

Framework: When [Entity] turns into WAR! ([Authority Figure] vs [Authority Figure])

Hook score: +889

Why this works:

Epic – Describing a tennis match as turning into “WAR” makes this feel way more epic and exciting.

Negativity – This title brings a lot of conflict, which people love.

Authority – Federer and Medvedev grab attention here because they’re both popular tennis players.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about a battle between two big names in your industry and describe it as something turning into WAR.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • When Camera Releases turn into WAR! (Canon vs Sony)
  • When F1 turns into WAR!

Desire – This creator’s audience wants a clean home.

Authority – This leverages the authority of “people with Clean Homes”.

Daily – Doing something daily makes it feel more tangible and interesting.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about 10 things people who have what they want do daily.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 10 things people with 6 Packs do DAILY | Clean Eating Habits
  • 5 things billionaires do DAILY

A/B Test of the Week

ab test results

Calling out beginners in your title is one of the easiest ways to get more views.

Beginners are the biggest, hungriest, most eager-to-learn part of any audience.

And when you make them feel like your video was made just for them, they’re more likely to click.

You can call out beginners two ways:

  1. You can be obvious and use the word “beginners”.
  2. You can imply your video is for beginners, like how title B used the words, “Your First”.
