I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.
P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.
Ancient Mistakes
Title: 3 FASHION MISTAKES THAT ARE MAKING YOU LOOK OLDER THAN YOU ARE
Framework: 3 (Niche) Mistakes That Are (Causing problem)
Hook score: +467
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about) and they add some curiosity.
Negativity – This uses negativity two ways:
- “Mistakes” grabs your attention and interest.
- It calls out a pain point — looking older than you are.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the mistakes they’re making that are causing a problem.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 3 YouTube Mistakes That Are Making Your Channel Feel Shadow Banned
- 3 Baking Mistakes That Are Making Your Bread Dry

Title: San Antonio’s BEST & WORST Suburbs Ranked
Framework: (Entity’s) BEST & WORST (Entities) Ranked
Hook score: +520
Why this works:
Desire – This creator’s audience wants to hear about the best San Antonio suburbs.
Negativity – The “worst” San Antonio suburbs grabs attention because this audience definitely does not want to move there.
Curiosity – Everybody likes to see how things rank and compare against each other.
How you can use this framework: Rank the best and worst things in your niche.

Delicious DIY
Title: STOP buying protein bars. Make these instead.
Framework: STOP (Action) (Entity). (Action) these instead.
Hook score: +625
Why this works:
Negativity – The big “STOP” in all caps does a great job of grabbing your attention.
Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you wonder what “these” are. The first part is also a little counterintuitive — why would you stop buying protein bars?
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience to stop doing something they’re currently doing and try an alternative instead.
Examples of this framework in action:
- STOP planting tomatoes. Plant these instead.
- STOP practicing the piano. Try this instead.
Checking in
Title: How much progress have we made on climate change?
Framework: How much progress have we made on (Big problem)?
Hook score: +850
Why this works:
Curiosity – This builds curiosity by asking a question many people are probably wondering in the back of their minds.
Negativity – Climate change is a global problem that many people are aware of and interested in.
How you can use this framework: Ask a question checking in on how a big issue is doing.
Examples of this framework in action:
- How much progress have we made on homelessness?
- How much progress have we made on cancer treatment?
Love Language
Title: If you are craving love, God wants you to hear this.
Framework: If you are craving (Entity), (Authority figure) wants you to hear this.
Hook score: +1272
Why this works:
Negativity – This calls out people experiencing a specific pain.
Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you wonder what it is God wants you to hear.
Authority – I’m not sure if this is just relevant to this niche and this video, but if God wants you to hear something, that’s a pretty powerful sign you need to hear it.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that if they’re craving something, or experiencing a certain pain point, they need to hear this.
Examples of this framework in action:
- If your business is stuck, Hormozi wants you to hear this.
- If you are craving more hip mobility, you need to watch this.
Flop of the Week
Title: 50 AND FABULOUS: COSY COMFY STYLE FOR WOMEN
Hook score: -64
Why this flopped: The best titles are clear and simple.
This title doesn’t really fit that.
“50 AND FABULOUS” is too clever and vague, and dilutes the main idea of the title: “COSY COMFY STYLE FOR WOMEN.”
Here are some other options we could try:
We could try calling out a pain point and dropping in the current year:
“How To Dress Stylish In 2025 (Without Being Uncomfortable)”
We could add a little curiosity by making it about a secret:
“The Secret To Dressing Stylish AND Comfy”
Or we could use a similar format to the outlier above this section:
“If you want to dress stylish and cosy, you need to watch this.”
