How to have the GREATEST YouTube COMEBACK of your life.

I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”

And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.

Title: How to have the GREATEST academic COMEBACK of your life.

Framework: How to have the GREATEST (Niche or Activity) COMEBACK of your life.

Hook score: +344

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to have an amazing academic comeback.

Epic – “the GREATEST” and “of your life” give this video an epic feeling.

The way he’s written this title is so much more exciting than if the title was just “How to get better grades.”

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how they can have the greatest comeback of their life.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How to have the GREATEST fitness COMEBACK of your life.
  • How to have the GREATEST gardening COMEBACK of your life.

Title: How learning 7+ languages ruined my English

Framework: How (Achieving goal) ruined my (Possession)

Hook score: +733

Why this works:

Curiosity – It’s counterintuitive that a good thing (learning 7+ languages) would have a bad result (ruining her English).

Negativity – Nobody wants to ruin their native language skills, so this grabs attention.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience how doing something good or taking steps to achieve a goal actually ruined something else.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How running 7+ marathons ruined my love of running
  • How hitting 100K subscribers ruined my YouTube channel

Title: How Many Americans REALLY Have $1 Million or More?

Framework: How Many (People) REALLY (Have reached a milestone)?

Hook score: +1006

Why this works:

Curiosity – This title builds curiosity by asking a question.

Status – This is all about status, a benchmark, and how the audience compares to everybody else.

How you can use this framework: Ask how many people have really reached a big milestone in your niche.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How Many YouTubers REALLY Have 100K Subscribers?
  • How Many Shopify Store Owners REALLY Make $10K a Month?

Title: 9 Things You Rarely Do for Your Dog (But Should Every Day)

Framework: 9 Things You Rarely Do for [Possession] (But Should Every Day)

Hook score: +3160

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Curiosity – There’s contrast between “rarely” and “every day”, which builds curiosity.

Every Day – Telling people about things they should do “every day” makes your video feel more specific and interesting.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about things they rarely do, but should do every day.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • 9 Chores You Rarely Do Around the House (But Should Every Day)
  • 9 Items People Rarely Bring On Cruises (But Should Always Pack)

The Towel Test

Title: How Often Should You Wash Your Towels? I Bacteria Tested Mine!

Framework: How Often Should You (Activity)? I (Entity) Tested Mine!

Hook score: +11375

Why this works:

Curiosity – This title builds curiosity by asking a question.

Experience – This title builds trust because it isn’t just her opinion, she actually has proof and experience testing her own towels.

Negativity – There’s an undertone of fear that your towels are actually grosser than you think, which makes it more important to watch this video.

How you can use this framework: Ask how often you should do something, and then run a test to find the answer.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • How Often Should You Change Your Oil? I Tested My Engine!
  • How Often Should You Replace Your Cutting Board? I Bacteria Tested Mine!

Flop of the Week

debunked!

Title: 5 Biggest Social Security MYTHS of 2025

Hook score: -89

Why this flopped: I think there are two main reasons why this flopped:

1) It was published in November of 2025. People are already thinking about 2026, so it might’ve done better if the title was “5 Biggest Social Security MYTHS of 2025”.

2) I’ve covered over 1,400 titles in this newsletter, and only 3 of those titles have the word “myth” in them. It seems like it’s just not that popular of a topic.

Another title option to try instead of this list-style title would be to make the title about one of the myths.

Since the last myth is that people believe the government has stolen money from Social Security, we could try something like “The Truth About The Government Stealing Money From Social Security”.
