I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.
P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.

Title: 10 Things I Stopped Buying in 2026 (Saved $1,100/month)
Framework: 10 Things I Stopped [Action] in [Current year] ([Result])
Hook score: +1149
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.
Negativity – Telling people what you’ve stopped doing makes you a little bit scared that they’re accidentally still doing something they shouldn’t be.
Desire – This ends with a big benefit: saving $1,100/month.
Year – Dropping in the current year around the turn of the year is a great way to grab the audience’s attention and let them know this video is relevant right now.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about things you stopped doing this year and the big benefit you got from that.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 10 Design Trends I Stopped Following in 2026 (No more minimalism)
- 10 “Superfoods” I Stopped Eating in 2026
Lost Luxuries
Title: 20 Forgotten Home Features That Need To Make A Comeback
Framework: 20 Forgotten (Entities) That Need To Make A Comeback
Hook score: +1180
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.
Curiosity – There’s contrast between “forgotten” and “need to make a comeback” that builds curiosity and interest.
Nostalgia – This title promises a bit of nostalgia with “forgotten” things that should come back.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about forgotten things that need to make a comeback.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 20 Forgotten Fashion Items That Need To Make A Comeback
- 20 Forgotten Vehicles That Need To Make A Comeback

Framework: 6 Rules That Will (Achieve big goal) – A (Authority Figure’s) (Plan).
Hook score: +3795
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.
Authority – Him dropping in that he’s a “Parts Guy” builds trust through authority here.
Desire – Most people would love their cars to last 300,000 miles.
Curiosity – There’s a bit of curiosity here because you might assume it’s impossible for most cars to last 300,000 miles.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about rules from an authority figure to achieve a seemingly impossible goal.

- 6 Rules That Will Keep Your Dog Healthy for 15+ Years – A Veterinarian’s Care Plan

Eye See You
Title: What’s Your Eye Color REALLY Saying About You?
Framework: What’s Your (Attribute) REALLY Saying About You?
Hook score: +5387
Why this works:
Desire – Pretty much everybody wants to know more about themselves, so this style of title delivers on that.
Curiosity – This builds curiosity by asking a question. “REALLY” also makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
How you can use this framework: Ask your audience what one of their attributes is REALLY saying about them.
Examples of this framework in action:
- What Are Your Hobbies REALLY Saying About You?
- What’s Your Favorite Movie REALLY Saying About You?

Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.
Desire – This uses desire in two ways:
- Most people would love to fix their mobility problems and never get injured.
- It promises a lot (fixing all your mobility problems) for a little (only 5 exercises.
How you can use this framework: Give your audience a short list of things that accomplish a lot for them.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 5 Habits That Fix 95% Of Your Money Problems (Never Go Broke)
- 5 Changes That Fix 95% Of Your Sleep Problems (Never Feel Tired)
Flop of the Week
Title: If You Don’t Understand Bonds, You Don’t Understand Money
Hook score: -97
Why this flopped: I think this video flopped for two reasons:
First, it’s a little bit confusing.
The thumbnail’s job is to grab the audience’s attention. The title’s job is to confirm with the audience that, yes, they do want to watch this video.
“Bonds Explained” in the thumbnail sets you up for a video explaining bonds, but the title kinda undoes that. It’s too clever and not clear enough.
Second, it doesn’t address a clear benefit or pain point.
Am I going to learn about bonds so I can be a better investor so I can make more money?
Or is not knowing about bonds costing me a lot of money right now?
This goes along with the first point: there needs to be a clear reason for people to watch this video.
