Sleeping Savior

it reverses damage

Title: Sleep Less than 7 Hours? This Exercise Can Save You

Framework: (Problem)? This (Activity) Can Save You

Hook score: +709

Why this works:

Negativity – This calls out the right audience by asking who’s struggling with a specific problem.

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know what this exercise is.

Desire – If you struggle with sleep, you’d love to learn about an exercise that can save you.

How you can use this framework: Call out the right audience by asking if they struggle with a problem, then introduce something that can save them.

Desire – This crestor’s audience would love to become fluent in English.

Curiosity – This opens a loop and makes you want to know what this one thing is.

Scarcity – By making this video about just one single thing, it increases the value and interest in the thing.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that you achieved a goal by doing “this one thing”.

Jokes to Jams

Why this works:

List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.

Curiosity – This builds curiosity in two ways:

  1. It opens a loop and makes you wonder what these songs are.
  2. The contrast between “joke songs” and “global hits” also builds curiosity.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about unserious things that became huge successes.

Examples of this framework in action:

Flop of the Week

plastic soup

Title: If You Drink Bottled Water, To-Go Coffee, & Eat Canned Soup – Watch THIS Immediately

Hook score: -96

Why this flopped: Normally, I’d tell you to change this title to make it more focused, like “If You Drink To-Go Coffee, Watch THIS Immediately”.

But that was their first title, so I’m assuming it flopped as well:

I still stand by that advice. I typically try to avoid using the word “and” in titles to try to make them as focused as possible. That helps a title be easier to read and more emotionally impactful.

However, that clearly didn’t work here. So what can we do?

One thing we could do is be more direct:

“Stop Drinking To-Go Coffee Right Now”

Or, we could double down on the toxins idea if we think people like that:

“You’re Accidentally Drinking Toxins Every Morning”

Or, we could just totally switch the angle:

“This Changed How I Drink Coffee Forever”

TDLR: If your video flopped, be more direct and emotional, or try a totally new angle to see if it’ll help you get more views.
