The YouTube Algorithm Shortcut No One Taught Us

I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”

And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”

So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.

Hook score: +440

Why this works:

Desire – This creator’s audience would love to make money fast.

Speed – People love speed and “as FAST as Possible” promises that here.

Extreme & Epic- “as FAST as Possible” sounds more exciting than just “Fast.”

Title: SECRET Weapon for a MOLD-FREE Home (It’s Not What You Think)

Framework: SECRET Weapon for a [Problem]-FREE [Entity] (It’s Not What You Think)

Hook score: +613

Why this works:

Curiosity – This makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret in two ways:

  1. “SECRET Weapon” obviously makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
  2. “(It’s Not What You Think)” reinforces that feeling.

Negativity & Desire – This is all about a problem and solution: having a mold-free home.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the secret weapon to a problem-free thing.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • SECRET Weapon for ACNE-FREE Skin (It’s Not What You Think)
  • SECRET Weapon for a PEST-FREE Garden (It’s Not What You Think)

Framework: [Low Price] vs [Mid Price] vs [High Price] [Entities] (With Examples)

Hook score: +990

Why this works:

Curiosity – This builds curiosity in two ways:

  1. Comparing different things against each other does a great job of building curiosity.
  2. The contrast of the different prices enhances the curiosity.

How you can use this framework: Compare different levels of things in your niche.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • $5,000 vs $50,000 vs $500,000 RVs
  • $100 vs $1,000 vs $10,000 Cameras

Hidden Hygiene

woman and feminine products

Title: The Feminine Hygiene Routine No One Taught Us

Framework: The (Entity) No One Taught Us

Hook score: +2247

Why this works:

Curiosity – “No One Taught Us” gives you a little bit of FOMO and makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.

Taboo – Taboo, sensitive, or personal things like feminine hygiene do a great job of grabbing people’s attention.

How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the thing no one taught you about an attention-grabbing subject.

Examples of this framework in action:

  • The Salary Negotiation Script No One Taught Us
  • The Dating Red Flags No One Warns You About

Flop of the Week

woman holding sponges

Title: Scrub Daddy all that? Let’s find out!

Hook score: -70

Why this flopped: This title feels a little too clever and clunky.

I think, “all that,” specifically, is too unclear, so here’s how we might reword it:

“These Sponges Are BETTER Than The Scrub Daddy”

This is more clear and states a bold opinion.

But let’s say that the title I wrote above still doesn’t work. What then?

Well, it’s possible “Scrub Daddy” isn’t the best subject to focus the title on. Here are some other options:

“Everything You Need To Know About Cleaning Sponges”

“I Tested The Top Cleaning Sponges – Here’s The Best One”

“This Changes Everything I Thought I Knew About Sponges”

Alright, that wraps up this week’s Creator Hooks!
