I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.

Hook score: +1020
Why this works:
Conspiracy & Curiosity – “The Media Won’t Show You” adds some conspiracy and makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
And China is polarizing, which also grabs attention. If this was “The Side of (Unheard of Country) The Media Won’t Show You,” nobody would care.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the side of a polarizing topic the media won’t show them.
Examples of this framework in action:

Timeliness – This video was published a few weeks before the election and does a great job of riding the election’s popularity (and polarity).
Authority – Since this creator is a tax expert, he has authority regarding tax plans, so you want to hear what he has to say about this topic.
Negativity – The thumbnail makes it clear there’s some controversy in this video.
How you can use this framework: If you’re an expert or professional, break down a trending authority’s plan for something in your realm.

Negativity – “feels ILLEGAL” adds a bit of controversy and an edge to this video that makes it feel more exciting.
How you can use this framework: Show your audience how to do something so fast that it feels illegal.

A/B Test of the Week
Suppose your video is about a topic people don’t immediately recognize or aren’t necessarily excited about (even if it’s cool once they learn about it).
In that case, you might not want to include the exact topic in your title.
Instead, you can zoom out and give it a simple, but extreme label (like “Ireland’s Creepiest Island”).
This makes your title easier to understand and more exciting.
