I’ve asked some of the best creators on YouTube, “How do you write such great titles?”
And they’ve all said the same thing: “I just model what works.”
So this email will show you 5 videos worth modeling to help you write great titles and save time.
P.S. If you want to save more time and use a title generator that uses all the titles from this newsletter, check out Creator Hooks Pro.
Science Says So
Title: 5 Science-Backed Exercises That Reverse Aging
Framework: 5 Science-Backed (Activities) That (Achieve Goal)
Hook score: +592
Why this works:
List – Lists make videos feel more tangible (you know exactly what the video will be about), and they add some curiosity.
Authority – This video feels more credible because these exercises are “science-backed”.
Desire – This creator’s audience would love to reverse aging.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about things to help them achieve a goal that are backed by science or some other authority.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 5 Science-Backed Techniques That Erase Anxiety
- 5 Science-Backed Foods That Reverse Inflammation
Curious Conundrum
Title: This Job Easily Makes Millionaires… Why Does Nobody Want to Do It?
Framework: This (Entity) Easily Makes (Goal)… Why Does Nobody Want to Do It?
Hook score: +675
Why this works:
Curiosity – This asks a counterintuitive question, which builds tons of curiosity. Why wouldn’t people want to do a job that easily makes millionaires?
Desire – Most people would love to easily become a millionaire.
How you can use this framework: Say that something easily helps people achieve a goal, but nobody wants to do it.
Examples of this framework in action:
- This Exercise Easily Burns Fat… Why Does Nobody Do It?
- This Method Helps You Easily Learn Spanish… Why Does Nobody Want to Do It?

Six String Secrets
Title: What No One Tells You About The Worlds Largest Guitar Factory
Framework: What No One Tells You About The Worlds Largest (Entity)
Hook score: +735
Why this works:
FOMO & Secret – “What No One Tells You” gives you a bit of FOMO and makes you feel like you’re getting in on a secret.
Epic & Extreme – Extreme things, like “World’s Largest Guitar Factory”, make videos unique and give them an epic feeling.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience what no one tells them about the biggest (or otherwise extreme) thing in your niche.
Examples of this framework in action:
- What No One Tells You About The World’s Richest Country
- What No One Tells You About The World’s Most Popular Religion
Moment in Time
Title: The Price of Progress: What Tokyo Looks Like at 8AM
Framework: The Price of (Goal): What (Entity) Looks Like at (Specific moment in time)
Hook score: +1205
Why this works:
Moment – Talking about specific moments (like 8 AM, in this case) does a great job of building curiosity and making a video feel tangible and more interesting.
Negativity – “Price of Progress” and the thumbnail let you know this video is about a struggle, and people love a dramatic struggle.
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience about the price of something supposedly good, and talk about what a specific moment in time looks like.
Examples of this framework in action:
- The Price of Pretty: What My 6 AM Morning Routine Looks Like
- The Price of Success: What Wall Street Looks Like at 9 PM
Grocery Gaffes
Title: 93% of People Grocery Shop The Wrong Way (Here’s How To Fix It!)
Framework: 93% of People [Activity] The Wrong Way (Here’s How To Fix It!)
Hook score: +1402
Why this works:
Negativity – Nobody wants to do something the wrong way, so this grabs the audience’s attention.
Curiosity – This builds curiosity in two ways:
- It opens a loop because it doesn’t give you any specific information about the wrong way to grocery shop, or how to fix it, but it makes you want to know both of those things.
- It’s counterintuitive because since when is there a wrong way to do something as simple as grocery shopping?
How you can use this framework: Tell your audience that a large percentage of people do something simple the wrong way.
Examples of this framework in action:
- 93% of People Book Flights The Wrong Way (Here’s How To Do It Right!)
- 93% of People Shop For a New House The Wrong Way (Here’s How To Fix It!)
Flop of the Week
Title: How Resting Squats Completely Healed My Body
Hook score: -72
Why this flopped: This title isn’t bad, but apparently, the audience wasn’t into it. So what can we do?
Well, maybe “resting squats” isn’t exciting enough. We could try this:
“How This One Exercise Completely Healed My Body”
This adds a bit of scarcity because it focuses on just one exercise and adds some curiosity because we didn’t specify what it is.
It’s also possible that “Completely Healed My Body” isn’t powerful enough either. We could try this:
“How This One Exercise Completely Changed My Life”
Or
“How This Simple Exercise Completely Changed My Life”
Or
“Doing This Simple Exercise Every Day Completely Changed My Life”
We added some more curiosity and made it more broadly appealing by being more vague, but still focusing on the benefits.
